We are excited to announce Shepherd Elementary is hosting its first Winter Ball on January 24th! There will be fun & games, a DJ, food, and photos all conveniently located in the Shepherd Multipurpose Room. Tickets can be purchased for $5 a person (children and adults must pay admission) and must be purchased in advance. There will be 2 sessions based on ages. Adults are required to accompany children in PreK3 - 2nd but not in 3rd - 5th grades.

Forms were sent home before winter break that allow you to remit payment with the # of people who will attend. If you don't see the form, you can send a payment of $5/person to your homeroom teacher. Please remember to include a slip of paper with your child's name and how many people will attend.

The PTO is also looking for volunteers to help with the event! We are requesting volunteers to sell concessions at both sessions and volunteers to chaperone for the 3^rd - 5^th grade session. Please visit this sign-up genius if you are able to support this fun event!

Winter Clubs

SESSA's winter clubs are now open for enrollment here. Carefully review meeting times, dates and grade restrictions before enrolling. Families currently enrolled in clubs, must re-enroll for clubs they wish to continue for the next session. Teacher Appreciation Program (TAP) Winner

Congrats, Ms. Saxton (1st Grade), for being the December TAP Winner.

Ms. Saxton is currently teaching 27 (!!) 1 st graders while another teach is sought. Yet, somehow she manages to respond to any message I send and she provides my daughter with extra help as needed (for example, by providing heart word flash cards). My daughter’s ELA learning is progressing.

What is TAP?

The Teacher Appreciation Program, or TAP, gives parents an opportunity to recognize a teacher at Shepherd for their great work and dedication. TAP invites parents to write a letter of appreciation recognizing a teacher who has been especially helpful or admirable in the classroom.

Once a month, a special teacher will be selected from the nominations to receive a Wishlist fund bonus. The recognition letters will also be shared with the selected teacher and school community.
