SY24-25 Committee Chairs

Please consider volunteering to be a Committee Lead for the 2024-2025 school year. These committee leads are critical to the execution and planning of many of our PTO efforts. We are grateful that a handful of Committee Leads plan to return, but our goal is to secure co-leads for all committees next year so we are always looking for more volunteers. More information on the Committees can be found on our website.

Shepherd ES Parent Feedback Survey

As we plan for next year, the PTO and School Administration would like to hear your ideas and learn what we can improve. We will use this data to make for an even better year in 2024-2025. If you are interested in providing feedback, please respond to the survey here. The survey will close today June 12th. Thank you!

Field Day & Volunteers

The 2024 Field Day is scheduled for Friday, June 14th. Field Day gives kids the chance to celebrate the school year coming to an end, show some class pride and spend a day being active. Volunteers are needed to help support the event. Please sign up here! 

Some important notes:

  • 2nd Grade has been moved to the 12 pm - 3 pm slot. If you are a volunteer and would like to switch slots, please feel free to change your Sign-up Genius

  • Please Apply Sunscreen on your Student (Staff cannot apply sunscreen)

  • Pack a Water Bottle

  • Wear your Field Day T-Shirt or a White T-Shirt

  • Wear Sneakers or Footwear appropriate for Field Day

  • Field Day will happen rain or shine and will be moved indoors in the event of inclement weather

IB Ambassador Applications - Deadline Extended

Shepherd Elementary is still accepting applications for our IB Ambassadors Program! This is a unique opportunity for 3rd-5th grade students to take on leadership roles within our school community. If you participated this school year, you are welcome to apply again!  Students must complete the application by the new extended deadline: Thursday, June 13th at 11:59 pm. Applications will be reviewed by Shepherd staff to determine the cohort for the 24-25 school year! Apply here!

Star Achievers (SESSA) Reenrollment

Some super important date changes regarding enrollment for next year to be aware of:

  • The Early Registration window will be open from June 17th at 10am until June 24th.
  • General registration will be open from June 24th 10am until August 23rd.


The early window is password protected so please be on the look out for an email with the password later in June.

Each month, the Bulletin will feature parent resources courtesy of Dr. Persephone Brown, our wonderful School Psychologist. These resources provide tips to help with your physical, social and emotional well-being. Take a few moments to read or listen to some of these pieces and know we're here for you and your students.   

Giving Back Opportunities
Uniform 'Shopping for Shepherd'

As you start to think about new uniforms over the summer, don't forget about 'Shopping for Shepherd.' Shepherd Elementary partners with Lands End to receive rebates when purchases are made through their websites. Lands End purchases earn up to 3% back. Please consider ordering uniforms from these sources as an easy way to give back to Shepherd!

Shepherd 180 Fund Appeal And Bonus Incentive!

Help the Shepherd PTO fund lots of great events, initiatives, and extra curricular efforts at Shepherd this year by donating to the 180 Fund. 

It's called the 180 Fund because there are 180 instructional days in the school year and your donation of a dollar a day per student helps the PTO support sending students on offsite field trips, funding teacher educational wish lists, putting on school plays and concerts, updating outdoor playground equipment, funding additional academic supports, and hosting school-wide events! This budget really helps us give our students even more unique, meaningful and enriching opportunities each year.

Any contribution is always much appreciated. And as a reminder, your contribution is 100% tax deductible. Thanks for your support!
